SAT India Exam Dates 2026: Full Test Schedule & Registration

The College Board has announced eight SAT test dates for 2026 accessible to Indian candidates: 14 March, 02 May, 06 June, 22 August, 12 September, 03 October, 07 November, and 05 December 2026. All are conducted in fully digital mode at authorised centres across India.

There is no strict age limit set by the College Board. Students who have completed or are currently studying in Class 11, Class 12, or an equivalent 10+2 programme are the primary candidates. Both Indian nationals and international students can register and select India-based test centres.

Registration is exclusively online through the College Board's official global SAT portal. You create or log in to a College Board account, choose your preferred date, select an India-based test centre, complete your profile, upload a photograph, and pay the fee by international card. There is no separate India-only portal.

Indian candidates pay the international registration fee set by the College Board in US dollars, which is higher than the US domestic rate. The College Board does not impose a limit on the number of SAT attempts. You may register for any or all of the 2026 test dates, subject to seat availability at your chosen centre. Many students take two to three attempts across the year to achieve their target score.

The digital SAT consists of two sections — Reading and Writing (scored 200–800) and Mathematics (scored 200–800) — giving a total score range of 400–1600. The test is section-adaptive, lasts approximately 2 hours 14 minutes, and includes a built-in Desmos calculator for the Mathematics section.

For Early Decision or Early Action deadlines (typically October–November 2026), the March, May, or August 2026 dates are recommended, leaving room for a retake. For Regular Decision deadlines (around January 2027), the October or November 2026 dates can also work. Always confirm the latest acceptable SAT date with each target university.
